Why are Purico products more expensive?
Because we don’t cut the corners that make packaged food cheap.
Our banana chips are fried in pure Kerala coconut oil — not refined vegetable oil. Many mass-market banana chips are fried in refined vegetable oil. Ours aren’t. That one decision costs more. We make it anyway.
What’s so special about Purico?
Honestly, nothing magical.
We don’t make the world’s greatest coconut oil or secret recipes that will change your life. We just give you direct access to simple, honest, locally made Kerala foods — without having to know someone who lives there.
Are your products healthy?
They’re snacks and traditional foods, not health supplements.
Banana chips are fried. Pickles have salt. We won’t call any of it guilt-free. What we will tell you is exactly what’s inside and how it was made — and we won’t hide anything behind vague “all-natural” claims.
Do you make everything yourselves?
No.
We work with small local producers in Kerala who already know how to make these foods well. Our job is to choose the right producers, insist on better ingredients and clear standards, and make their food accessible beyond Kerala.
